Diverting building waste from a landfill, creating valuable opportunities for volunteers and raising money to build affordable houses for Ottawa families, is what Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa does on a daily basis. We at Lagois, wanted to help contribute to this important cause by donating our clients’ project items that are no longer needed.
Because we strive to make sustainable choices to help the environment, we recently asked Habitat’s Restore folks to stop by our studio with their truck. Their 5-tonne truck arrived empty and left filled to the brim with items that we were able to salvage from some of our client’s homes!
Some of the items included:
- A fridge
- Stackable washer & dryer
- A gas fireplace
- A 13-piece kitchen cabinet set
- Exterior doors
- Interior doors
- Pocket doors
- Storm doors
- Oak railings
- Exterior wood columns
- Fencing
- Various sizes of oak trim
We look forward to donating many more of our project items as opportunities arise!
