In 1984, we opened our doors, offering architectural design and building solutions. For years, we provided design-only services for clients and contractors. Then, in 2012, Herb Lagois decided to combine his dual expertise in both design and construction and launch Lagois Design Build Renovate –
Ottawa’s Renovation Specialists.
Today Lagois is a full-service design-build company. From starter home couples and young families to empty nesters and seniors choosing to live in place, Lagois helps clients transform their homes into spaces for LIVING.
Each of our clients is different and we respond to their needs case-by-case. Some have homes that are too small or too dark. Others have homes that our outdated or not to code. Some have poor storage options or lack of outdoor space. Others simply want a change, a refresh, or reinvention of the place they call home. And yes, some need a new home altogether.
Regardless of what each client needs, they know they can count on us to take care of all aspects of the project including architectural design, permit plans and documentation, sourcing all materials and managing the construction process from start to finish.
We’ve developed a proven three-phase design-build process, ensuring your project will be built to the highest standards, with continuous attention to detail, and outstanding client service from start to finish.
For over 20 years, Lagois has been deeply committed to charitable causes and community involvement by all members of staff. We are strong supporters of Ronald McDonald House, where Herb Lagois has sat on the Board of Directors since 2015.
Additionally, Lagois supports numerous other children’s charities in the Ottawa area including The Snowsuit Fund, CHEO, local schools and various youth associations.
Health and safety is paramount at Lagois. In fact, we take it so seriously we even have a Joint Health and Safety Committee and our site supervisors undergo regular health and safety training. In addition, we belong to the Health and Safety Committee of the Greater Ottawa Home Builders Association (GOHBA) and we participate in the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Construction Safety Groups Program.
We also ensure that our sub-contractors abide by the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Regulations for Construction Projects. We’re proud to say that our Construction Manager, Chris Parish was the winner of the GOHBA Safety Award for Small Builders in 2009.
