Herb Lagois
President

In Herb Lagois’s earlier days, he loved working with his hands. Sketching and carpentry were his favourite activities. So, it’s not surprising to learn that his favourite part of his job at Lagois is seeing a project take tangible shape.

When Herb isn’t keeping tabs on everything and everyone involved in all of Lagois’ various projects, you might find him on his motorcycle, listening to the Rolling Stones and dreaming the impossible dream of one day meeting Frank Lloyd Wright.

Tom
Site Supervisor

As a graduate of the Algonquin College Architectural Technology program, Tom did design and construction drawings for several years. It was his knowledge of construction detailing and building code requirements that led him to his current role as Site Supervisor.

If he’s not immersed in the finer details of a building project, you might find him snowboarding, camping or on the hockey rink.

Sophie
Project Development Manager

Project Development Manager, Sophie Villeneuve has her finger on the pulse of all projects at Lagois. Tasked with managing budgets, product selections, trade pricing, scope of work and contract writing, she definitely has her hands full. But she loves every minute of it – especially the variety.

When it’s time to recharge, Sophie loves spending time at the cottage, gardening and cooking.

Craftsman

As resident Craftsman at Lagois, Jim is a master when it comes to finishing details. Leaving no stone unturned, he ensures that onsite workmanship is top notch.

When not applying his meticulous eye to Lagois projects, you can find Jim camping, mountain biking or walking his 2 dogs.

Jeff
Designer

Jeff Hurdis has the fun job of helping bring clients’ visions to life at Lagois. As resident Designer, he is responsible for the development of 3D renderings and managing the building permit process with the City.

When he’s off the clock, Jeff is consumed with his young chocolate lab pup, and loves to cook.

Chris
Construction Manager

Chris Parish is the Construction Manager for Lagois. Overseeing the building process from start to finish, he ensures that all trades people on site are doing top-notch work that remains on time and budget.

When Chris was young, he developed a love for all things automotive. So not surprisingly, when he’s not on the job site, he’s happily sitting in the driver’s seat – especially that of his boat.

Kelly
Bookkeeper

When Kelly Sands was a kid, she imagined being an accountant when she grew up.  She clearly had good professional instincts because she is now the Bookkeeper at Lagois.  Tasked with staying on top of all things numbers, Kelly helps the Lagois team stay on their financial toes.

When she’s not tapping a calculator, Kelly loves hopping on her motorcycle and listening to Led Zepplin.

Lagois Design Build Renovate is an award winning, design-build company that provides a complete design and build service to clients for renovations, additions and custom homes.

 

We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for the following key roles:

 

1. Scheduling:

  • Create and manage a job site schedule
  • Manage & schedule trades and materials

2. Client Liaison:

  • Conduct regular meetings with clients
  • Provide excellent service to clients

3. Site Safety:

  • Maintain a clean job site
  • Ensure all trades and employees are working in a safe manner

 

Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.

 

The successful candidate will require the following skills:

  • Highly organized and motivated
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Experience in the residential construction industry
  • Carpentry skills and site clean up
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with the team
  • Proficient at reading construction plans and specifications
  • Valid drivers license
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Basic computer skills

 

The ability to use Microsoft Project & Excel, and have valid First Aid, Working at Heights, Basics of Supervision certificates will be considered an asset.

 

This is a permanent, fulltime position that includes a company vehicle.
