Their lower patio underneath the deck was not as functional as it could have been, as water seeped through between the deck floor spaces each time it rained. The new vinyl deck took care of that problem with no more leaks – plus the added bonus of being maintenance free! The stairs leading down to the lower level patio had seen many years of wear and tear and the same vinyl decking used on the entire upper deck was also applied to the stairs, making it sturdy and solid for years to come.
The 2nd level porch just off their master bedroom was an open area that wasn’t used very often. We explored a few options, but the one that made the most sense was to have the entire porch screened in (with a rolled screen) so that they can enjoy it, bug-free for 3 seasons!
The retaining wall behind the garage area was certainly in need of a repair. The new stone retaining wall now keeps the soil in place while also adding architectural appeal. As the traffic along the river got very busy a lot of the time, they wanted a solution to placing their boat somewhere that it could be protected and out of the water. A natural inlet along the riverbank was just the perfect spot for the new boat lift! Some pretty landscaping along the retaining stone added a beautiful touch as well. They’re enjoying their new large waterfront dock that has loads of space for them and guests to sit and enjoy the scenery.
They wanted to refresh the look of their kitchen. Some of the room’s face-lift consisted of replacing the backsplash tiles, adding new granite countertops, installing pot lighting and re-locating the track lighting so that it was placed directly over the island. Their garage door was replaced with a new steel door with pewter round bar grilles to add a bit of charm. Brenda and Paul are enjoying their newly-renovated home!
