Canada Day celebrations in and around Ottawa

Get out your Canada Day red and whites! The Lagois team thought you might like to celebrate Canada Day with them. Here’s a list of some of the activities that will be happening nearby.

Canada Day in Carleton Place

Spend Canada Day along the Mississippi River in Carleton Place with an assortment of live music, food, and family fun from 12:30 p.m. 10:15 p.m.

Canada Day in Kemptville

Celebrate Canada Day at Riverside Park, 29 Reuben Crescent, Kemptville with a day of fun activities and entertainment for the whole family, finishing with a dazzling fireworks display.

Canada Day in Osgoode

Bike decorating, a scavenger hunt, food trucks, beer garden and of course fireworks promise a good Canada Day in Osgoode this year. You’ll find everything along Osgoode’s lively Main Street.

Canada Day in Barrhaven

Enjoy live bands, a midway, children’s activities, multiple entertainment stages, family breakfast, artisans and food vendors all Canada Day in Barrhaven with free shuttle buses to get you around easily.

Canada Day in downtown Ottawa

Start your day in downtown Ottawa with one of the top military bands in the country, the Band of the Ceremonial Guard, which will perform a free concert on Parliament Hill.

There will be another free concert downtown in the nation’s capital by the NAC Orchestra. No tickets needed – just bring your love for live music at 2:30 pm to Southam Hall, 1 Elgin Street.

During the weekend Ottawa’s famous ByWard Market will be hosting live music, great food and open air dance parties. This is a free event.

Listen and watch! The 75 & 742 Air Cadets Squadrons Band Is a great way to celebrate Canada Day and support young Canadian leaders.

You can also see and hear The Royal Canadian Air Force Pipes and Drums (RCAFPD)  performing with their highland dancers.

These are free events at Parliament Hill from 9 am to 9:30 am; 10:45 am to 11:15 am; and 12:30 pm to 1pm. 

The Canadian War Museum at 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa will be a hive of activity all day, from 9 am to 7 pm with  creative workshops such as Medicine Wheel Bracelet Making, exhibits, and fun activities for children, including Giant Bubbles, a 16-foot guitar slide and Face Painting. You can also watch some dance performances or learn the practice of DJing.

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will set out on their Canada Day flypast over Ottawa, celebrating the Royal Canadian Air Force’s (RCAF) 100th anniversary. At around 1 pm spectators will witness dozens of aircraft taking to the skies over Ottawa-Gatineau.

The Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team — the Skyhawks — are also set to make an appearance from 3 pm to 3:30 pm on Parliament Hill.

And of course, there will be fireworks, amazing fireworks, starting at 10 pm at LeBreton Flats Park.
