Ideal weather and amazing people, once again, made our September 16th annual Lagois Golf Tournament in support of Manoir Ronald McDonald House Ottawa a great success! Manoir Ronald McDonald House Ottawa helps families stay together while their child undergoes treatment for a serious illness at The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).
Our day at Manderley on the Green Golf Course was filled with loads of fun including camaraderie, golf, delicious food and some new games (we especially enjoyed the pie-throwing game)! Thanks so much to our wonderful and faithful sponsors, players and donors that made it possible to closely match last year’s contribution of $12,000! We are also grateful for all the Silent Auction items that were generously donated and to the Kemptville Scotiabank team, who kindly matched all the funds raised by their team! Money that was raised will go towards the building of a much-need new gazebo at the House for families to enjoy!
Dave Brown, one of our awesome trade partners who participated in the tournament said “I try never to miss your tournament – it is always a ton of fun, with great people, great food and great prizes. And the icing on the cake is the fact that the proceeds go to Manoir Ronald McDonald House Ottawa. Kudos to you, Herb and your crew for another amazing day! Well done. Very well done indeed!” We would also like to thank the Senators Foundation for donating a team-signed Ottawa Senators jersey that was included in our auction! Dave is the proud owner of the jersey. Congratulations Dave!
We were thrilled to have our young friend Alex Tourangeau and his parents Cheryl and Claude back to join us for a fun day of golf! The House was home for Alex and his family for 10 months while he was receiving treatment at CHEO. This year, Alex was able to play golf (his new passion) with us! We were also privileged to have Alex share with us, his long string of well-deserved courage beads that he’s received throughout his journey.
