GOHBA Award Finalist - Custom Home

Custom Homes

For a young, growing family, this magnificent custom home’s design criteria included open spaces, large mudroom/family entry, integration of indoor-outdoor living while optimizing the lake views and maintaining an arts and crafts flavour.

The design evolved around the centrally located kitchen where views were unobstructed to the dining areas, outdoor patios, and great room areas; conducive for family living and entertaining. The great room features a sunken floor as well as a raised ceiling (within floor system) creating an open, spacious feel.

The WOW factor for this design is the covered rear porch complete with outdoor fireplace and BBQ area.  The large stone chimney is used for privacy from neighbours. The covered porch is accessible from the dining as well as the kitchen and eating areas.

The mudroom includes a crafts area for family projects. The mudroom also boasts locker style storage for each family member. From the mudroom, a spacious multipurpose loft is accessible.

The second floor features five unique shaped bedrooms with ample closet space and storage.
